Haidemühl was an industrial community about ten kilometers west of Spremberg. Most of it was demolished in 2004, and the Welzow-Süd opencast mine reached its former location in 2018. Some parts of Haidemühl are still standing today because the ownership is still unclear and therefore the buildings cannot be demolished. Most of the residents were moved to the newly built district of Haidemühl in the city of Spremberg.[1]
